The Ellangowan Hotel in Creetown, Scotland, which appeared as the Green Man pub in the 1973 folk horror film *The Wicker Man*, is being auctioned with a starting price of £165,000. Its connection to the cult classic, including the famous seduction scene involving Britt Ekland’s character, has made it a destination for film fans and highlights the area’s role in Scottish cinema history.

The 128-year-old, B-listed hotel closed during the Covid-19 pandemic and previously contained nine bedrooms, a restaurant and a bar decorated with film production stills. Planning permission has been granted to convert the building into seven flats and a wine bar, with Future Property Auctions due to oversee its sale on Thursday.
