The Czech Republic has granted provisional approval for Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) driver assistance system, allowing the company to begin rolling out the technology to Czech residents. This approval follows months of evaluation by Czech authorities, who were initially concerned about how the system manages traffic lights, speed limits and driver attentiveness. The development represents an important step in Tesla's effort to expand its autonomous driving capabilities across Europe.

Czechia becomes the seventh European country to authorise FSD Supervised, joining the Netherlands (which was first), Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium and Slovenia. The Czech decision was informed by the Dutch regulatory authority's provisional approval in April and experience from other countries already using the system. However, Tesla faces a more significant challenge ahead: securing approval from at least 15 of the European Union's 27 member states for EU-wide expansion, with a vote potentially taking place as early as October. France is currently running tests on the technology but has not yet approved it.
