Indie Game Developer Accuses Studio of Using AI to Rip Off His Viral Potato Peeling Game

IGN · 4 hours ago

Indie developer Rado Klasa has accused Golden Horn Studios of using artificial intelligence to clone his game "1,000,000 Potatoes," a physics-based title where players peel potatoes in a Soviet-style military setting. After Klasa posted his game in July 2026, Golden Horn released an nearly identical game called "Potato Please" in September, prompting Klasa to publicly call out what he describes as "every indie dev's worst nightmare." Steam curators have already flagged the game as an AI-generated ripoff, and social media users have rallied behind Klasa's claim.

Golden Horn Studios has denied the allegations, stating they independently developed Potato Please from a viral meme and video popular within their community, and have never seen Klasa's game prior to his posts. The studio asserted that similar concepts do not constitute evidence of copying and offered to provide project files and development documentation to prove their work was created by their team. However, players remain sceptical, questioning the coincidence of both studios creating an identical niche concept and noting the timing discrepancies in Golden Horn's account history.
