Pixar’s Coco, widely regarded as one of the studio’s strongest films of the 2010s, is finally receiving broader franchise treatment after years as a largely standalone success. Its inclusion in Disney Lorcana signals a renewed effort to keep the film’s characters and themes prominent within Disney’s wider entertainment empire.

Coco will appear in Lorcana’s music-themed Hyperia City expansion, launching at prerelease events on 16 October and more widely on 23 October. Cards featuring Miguel, Héctor, Mama Coco and Ernesto de la Cruz translate the film’s ideas about music, memory and the Land of the Dead into gameplay, including discard-pile mechanics and a powerful “Remember Me” recovery effect.
