Disney+ Officially Makes Major Change to Ad-Free Subscription Plans

Collider · 1 hour ago

Disney+ has updated its Subscriber Agreement to clarify that every subscription tier, including plans marketed as ad-free, may contain promotional content, sponsorships or advertisements. These may appear before or after programmes and during live or on-demand channels, special events and third-party content, potentially making the “ad-free” label less meaningful.

The changes were announced by email and also reduce the notice period for price increases from 30 days to 28 days. The agreement now covers discounted promotional payment periods and explains subscribers’ legal right to withdraw within 14 days of joining; Junior Mode profiles are reportedly exempt from the advertising changes. Disney+ had more than 131.6 million subscribers as of November 2025.

  • All Disney+ plans may now include promotional content or adverts.
  • Ad-free subscriptions may no longer guarantee completely advert-free viewing.
  • Price-change notice falls to 28 days.
