Curry Barker’s horror film *Obsession* has become a major streaming success, spending 129 days in JustWatch’s US streaming Top 10 and previously reaching number one. Its continued popularity follows an unusually strong theatrical run, making it one of 2026’s biggest horror breakthroughs and demonstrating its appeal beyond cinemas.

The film follows Bear Bailey, who uses a magical object to make his childhood friend Nikki love him obsessively, with disturbing consequences. Made for less than $1 million, it reportedly earned more than $427 million worldwide, including over $250 million domestically, before arriving on Peacock on 17 July; it has also received a 93% critics’ score and a 94% verified audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
