Laura Obradors' feature debut "The Woodworm" tells the story of a teenage girl navigating her identity whilst living under the shadow of her successful artist father. Developed through Madrid's ECAM Incubator and produced by Espurna Films, the film examines the power dynamics within a family and how artistic prestige can shield such dynamics from wider scrutiny. The project explores the conflicting impulses within a daughter—her desire for external validation alongside her need for independence—and interrogates the masculine-dominated expectations that shape her understanding of femininity and identity.

The film centres on 17-year-old Clara, whose experience of growing up within a family structure shaped by male authority and paternal artistic influence forms the narrative focus. Currently in its fourth script draft, the project has received development support from the Catalan Institute for Cultural Enterprises and has been selected for Cannes Focus COPRO' and ECAM Forum's Films to Come. Produced by Sergio Adrià's Espurna Films in collaboration with acclaimed co-producer Sandra Hermida, the filmmaking team is actively seeking co-producers, distributors and sales agents across Spain, France, Portugal and Belgium.
