Taylor Swift has announced a deluxe edition of *The Life of a Showgirl*, titled *The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore*, due on 25 September. The release will add four tracks, including the newly announced “Patient Zero”, after Swift said the songs were written out of gratitude for the album’s success and her fans’ response.

Swift said she wrote the additional material with producers Max Martin and Shellback during a trip to Sweden, nearly a year after the original album was released on 3 October. The announcement reverses her earlier insistence that the 12-track album was complete, while new dark-themed artwork, CD editions and changes to her social-media branding have prompted speculation about a new era.
