Taylor Swift has announced The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, a deluxe edition of her 2025 album due for release on Friday 25 September. The expanded version will contain four previously unreleased songs: “Patient Zero”, “Cleveland!”, “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon”. The announcement follows Swift’s earlier confirmation that “Patient Zero” would arrive this week.

Swift said the additional material was written in Sweden with Max Martin and Shellback, collaborators on the original album. She described the sessions as growing out of a visit intended to celebrate the album’s reception, after fans helped it achieve what she called the biggest opening week in album history. According to the reports, Swift framed the new songs as a response to listeners’ enthusiasm rather than as part of a previously announced recording project.

The digital edition is available to pre-order through Swift’s website and major digital music services. One report also describes what appears to be the cover: Swift in a glittering fringed mini-dress before a pink-red curtain. It says “Patient Zero” is being offered in standard, acoustic and piano versions, each with separate artwork. The original album reportedly spent 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 and produced two chart-topping singles, “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite”.

The timing may allow Swift to perform one of the new songs at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, where she is due to receive the newly introduced Artist Director Honor. The accounts differ in emphasis: the first centres on the announcement, release details and the creative circumstances behind the songs, while the second gives greater prominence to chart statistics, the proposed artwork, the alternate versions of “Patient Zero” and the possible connection between “Cleveland!” and Travis Kelce’s Ohio hometown. The reports describe the same release and track list, but they provide different levels of detail about the packaging, pre-order formats and commercial context. They also differ in how cautiously they present the possible significance of “Cleveland!”: one simply lists the title, while the other suggests a link to Kelce’s background without presenting it as confirmed. Neither account supplies a full explanation of the song titles or confirms that Swift will perform a new track at the VMAs.
