Netflix has ordered two new standalone seasons of “Chef’s Table”: “Icons” and “Desserts”. Both are now in production worldwide, with creator David Gelb directing every episode himself for the first time since the series launched in 2015, marking a notable return to the show’s original filmmaking approach.

Each season will contain four episodes, with featured chefs to be announced later. “Icons” will focus on chefs who built lasting culinary institutions, while “Desserts” will explore inventive pastry and confectionery chefs globally, including some who have never appeared on television; the seasons follow “Chef’s Table: Legends”, which aired in 2025.
