Musgraves has already honoured Parton during recent tour stops in Boston and New York, performing songs including "Here You Come Again" and "9 to 5". The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony will air on CBS and MTV at 7:30 p.m. ET, and will feature numerous other performances, including tributes to George Michael from Raye, Sombr, and Teddy Swims, and Madonna's first VMA performance in 20 years.
