Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed extreme concern to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over the breach, condemning it as "unacceptable." A significant source of frustration has been OpenAI's delayed notification to the Australian government of the incident, raising questions about corporate accountability and transparency in handling security breaches.
