New Found Glory have cancelled their appearance at Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival following the death of founding guitarist Chad Gilbert. They will instead perform their first live shows at EPCOT, which the band says is an appropriate tribute to Gilbert, a devoted Disney fan who had been helping plan the performances.

Gilbert died on 20 September, six months after revealing he had brain cancer; he had previously been diagnosed with liver cancer in 2021. He co-founded New Found Glory in 1997 and wrote many of their best-known songs, including “My Friends Over You” and “Head on Collision”; the EPCOT set list will also feature “Dressed to Kill” and “Hit or Miss”.
