Creator Ryan Murphy has completed a script for a Glee reboot, written in collaboration with original showrunners Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy has been in contact with approximately ten members of the original cast, who have responded positively to the prospect of reviving the Fox musical comedy series that concluded in 2015. The development reflects renewed interest in the show, particularly amongst younger audiences who have discovered it since its conclusion.

The reboot script has not yet been pitched to any television network or streaming platform. Murphy stated that he intends to write additional scripts to assess how audiences and cast members will respond to the material, though no one has read the script to date. The original series, which ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, followed a high school show choir led by coach Will Schuester and became a significant cultural phenomenon during its initial broadcast run.
