Blue House Productions, the production company behind the critically-acclaimed BBC comedy Small Prophets, has hired development executive Shaunna O'Brien from Sister to spearhead original project development. The move marks a significant step for Blue House, which is formally announcing itself this month following the success of Small Prophets—a series that recently sold to Apple TV—and the upcoming launch of Season 2. The hire underscores the company's commitment to expanding its slate across comedy and comedy-drama genres.

O'Brien brings development experience from Sister, where she worked on shows including the BBC's The Split Up, particularly on projects in northern England. Blue House is led by Christine Gernon, director of Gavin & Stacey, and Emma Strain, a former VP of BBC Studios LA. The company is currently developing several original projects and has positioned itself as a home for exceptional creative talent, with further announcements promised in the coming months.
