14 days in Dragon Shelter: A play by play of my first season in the Stardew-style farm sim where dragons help bake pies
PC Gamer’s Lauren Morton spends the 14-day spring season playing Dragon Shelter, a colourful farming and cooking simulation in which dragons help with everyday chores and recipes. The game’s appealing art, gentle tone and dragon-assisted activities show promise, but its small world, awkward menus and limited characterisation make it feel less substantial than established farm sims.
The player restores an overgrown farm, helps revive a struggling village and completes errands involving crops, cooking and repairs. Dragons can water plants, gather resources and assist with multi-step recipes, while the game’s 14-day seasons make progress relatively brisk; however, there is no map, shops lack interiors, and the early game is largely confined to the farm and a tiny town.
- Charming dragon-focused farming and cooking simulation.
- Helpful dragons make routine chores more engaging.
- Cute, but currently feels limited and underdeveloped.
