Former Democratic fundraiser Lindy Li alleges that the party misrepresented President Joe Biden’s condition during the 2024 election campaign, rewarding allies who defended him and sidelining critics. In her book and an interview with Fox News, she also claims the party mismanaged donations and used fundraising and accounting practices that overstated some operatives’ achievements.

Li alleges that fundraisers could claim credit for up to $250,000 raised by people they recruited, potentially allowing donors and contributions to be counted more than once. She further says four media contractors received more than $500 million, with fees of about 15% on large advertising budgets, while campaign money was spent on costly venues, private flights, luxury hotels and promotional items; these claims are presented as Li’s allegations.
