Two RAF pilots successfully ejected from a Hawk T2 training aircraft near Anglesey in Wales on Wednesday, just moments before the aircraft crashed in a fireball. Both pilots are reported to be in excellent condition and are expected to make a full recovery. The incident has prompted the RAF to temporarily suspend all Hawk T1 and T2 flying operations whilst a formal investigation into the circumstances is undertaken.

The Hawk T2 is a high-performance, two-seat training jet equipped with advanced avionics, primarily used by the RAF for advanced pilot training to prepare crews for complex tactical environments and front-line aircraft such as the Typhoon. The incident occurred near RAF Valley on Anglesey, which houses No 4 Flying Training School, responsible for training the UK's next generation of fighter pilots. Footage captured by a local resident showed the pilots parachuting safely as the aircraft erupted into flames, though the cause of the crash remained unclear at the time of reporting.
