Manchester City appear to have received a verdict in the Premier League’s long-running investigation into 115 alleged financial-rule breaches, with sources saying the club was found guilty of most or almost all charges. The decision does not end the case: City deny wrongdoing, are expected to appeal, and any final sanctions could affect their titles, Premier League status and future participation in European competitions.

The charges relate mainly to alleged failures to provide accurate financial and payment information between 2009 and 2018, along with breaches of Uefa financial fair play and Premier League profitability rules, and failure to co-operate with investigators. Allegations included disguising owner funding as sponsorship income and concealing payments to players and former manager Roberto Mancini; City have rejected the claims and challenged the use of leaked documents. The independent hearing began in September 2024 after a four-year investigation.
