Two University of Mississippi students have died under suspicious circumstances, prompting an investigation that could result in major drug trafficking charges if toxicology reports reveal fentanyl involvement. The incident has raised alarm on campus and highlighted concerns about narcotics distribution in the area. Robert Strang, a 20-year-old junior from Atlanta, and Aidan Hamilton, an 18-year-old freshman from Colorado, were the victims. Toxicology reports are expected within days, and Mississippi's Parker's Law, enacted in 2022, allows prosecution of those who unlawfully distribute fentanyl resulting in death. In a related investigation, Oxford police arrested two men—Yahya Mohamed Mosleh, 51, and Islam Mohamed, 18—following a raid on Puffs Vape, Tobacco and Beer Store, where agents recovered more than 500 units of kratom (prohibited in Oxford since 2019), THC cartridges, and other suspected narcotics.
