Sheinbaum later clarified via TikTok video that she had merely assumed the band would accompany the South Korean leader, highlighting a miscommunication that left disappointed fans empty-handed.

Stray Kids, whose members range in age from 25 to 28, are scheduled to perform at the GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City on 25 and 26 September. Sheinbaum described the group as "kind of like BTS, but younger," making a direct comparison to the earlier K-pop phenomenon. The incident contrasts sharply with BTS's visit to Mexico last May, when the band actually met with Sheinbaum on the presidential balcony and waved to approximately 50,000 fans gathered in the Zócalo.
