A powerful nor'easter struck the East Coast of the United States on Friday night, affecting approximately 40 million Americans. The storm brought severe coastal flooding, damaging winds and significant disruption, with roads transformed into rivers from New Jersey to Maryland, thousands of power outages, and hundreds of flight cancellations already occurring. States of Emergency were declared for New York City and coastal areas of New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester County, as forecasters warned the worst conditions were still to come.

Several coastal communities experienced dramatic impacts within hours of the storm's arrival. In New Jersey's Sea Bright, officials warned of potential flooding reaching up to six feet in some streets, with local leaders comparing the event to Hurricane Irene's devastating 2011 flooding. The Oceans Calling music festival was cancelled, residents in low-lying areas were evacuated, and authorities urged further evacuations as the nor'easter was expected to track offshore whilst passing close enough to the coast to continue unleashing damaging winds, massive waves and extensive coastal flooding.
