M. Night Shyamalan has effectively ruled out making another film in his Unbreakable superhero universe. He said he does not think there will be a further instalment, despite having imagined other superpowered characters who could theoretically exist in the same world.

Shyamalan indicated that Bruce Willis’s central role as David Dunn, or the Overseer, is a major reason he does not want to continue the series without him. The franchise concluded with Unbreakable, Split and Glass, while Shyamalan has since focused on films including Old, Knock at the Cabin and Trap.
