Blizzard has announced World of Warcraft Forever, a “Classic Plus” version designed to preserve the feel of the original 2004-06 game while adding fresh content. The project aims to appeal to returning players and newcomers by avoiding major expansion-driven changes, while offering new zones, quests, dungeons, a playable race and quality-of-life improvements.

The game will add 1,000 quests, but developers say they will follow Vanilla WoW’s simple objectives, creature design, combat pacing and gradual progression. The level cap will remain 60, with the team encouraging players to enjoy the journey at their own pace, including shorter play sessions; the game is in beta and launches on 4 November for Mac and Windows PC.
