Author Chloe Gong is balancing several projects after releasing *Eyes of Kings*, the conclusion to her *Flesh & False Gods* trilogy, on 4 August 2026. Her next novel, *Deadlock*, the sequel to *Coldwire*, is due on 17 November, while she is also writing the final book in *The StrangeLoom* trilogy and revising a secret contemporary project. Gong said readers have reacted emotionally to *Eyes of Kings*, whose war-driven ending leaves only one king standing.

Gong’s new undisclosed project has been described as “an Emily Henry love story meets the zombie apocalypse” and is unrelated to her previous series. Although no screen adaptation has been confirmed, she said there is continuing industry interest in *These Violent Delights*, her 2020 Romeo and Juliet-inspired novel set in 1920s Shanghai. She remains open to the changes involved in adapting her work for television or film, while focusing primarily on writing books that could translate effectively on screen.
