The production begins each week with approximately 35 sketch concepts, narrowed to six after the Wednesday table read, with two additional cuts occurring during Saturday's dress rehearsal just four hours before broadcast. SNL UK's live viewing figures remain modest, with the Season 1 finale drawing 210,000 UK viewers across seven days, though individual sketches have found substantial success online. The 300-strong production crew means even minor changes to finalised sketches must be communicated across multiple departments including hair, makeup, and set design, creating significant production complexity.
