Minecraft LIVE September 2026 outlined major additions coming to Minecraft, led by the Sift, a new dimension arriving in Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027. It will be Minecraft’s fourth official dimension and first new one in more than 14 years, while the next game drop will introduce Ice Caves and a hostile Frozen Zombie. Mojang also announced Sound Effects Packs for the Marketplace and new attractions for Minecraft World.

Ice Caves will feature glowing, placeable ice crystals, Frozen Zombies that inflict stacking freezing effects, and ice balls that can damage, knock back or freeze players and be used in potion-making. Zombies exposed to powder snow can become Frozen, creating new possibilities for mob farms. Minecraft World is set to receive its first official hotel and a rollercoaster called Escape the Nether, while no End update was announced.
