Georgia investigators are seeking potential additional victims of Julius Hunter, a 42-year-old Florida sex offender whose DNA has been linked to three sexual assault cases involving women allegedly lured by Craigslist job adverts. Hunter has been indicted in Georgia over the alleged 2016 rape, kidnapping and aggravated sodomy of a 19-year-old who believed she was attending a $300 overnight babysitting job; authorities say no children were present and another unidentified man was in the flat.

Hunter’s DNA match emerged after he pleaded no contest in a 2021 Florida sexual battery case and provided a sample for the national CODIS database. His DNA also matched evidence from two other Georgia cases from 2016 and 2017, although he has not been charged in those incidents, and investigators have been unable to contact the women involved. Authorities say similar adverts offered babysitting, modelling, dancing and massage work, and are investigating whether Hunter may have targeted victims in other states, including New Jersey.
