Ryan Gosling's 2024 action film The Fall Guy, a collaboration with Emily Blunt, failed to recoup its substantial budget during its theatrical run, losing approximately £100 million. However, the film has found unexpected success on streaming platforms, becoming one of the most popular video-on-demand rentals and purchases globally on services such as Prime Video and Apple TV.

The film, directed by David Leitch, cost around £130 million to produce and required approximately £275 million at the box office to break even, but managed only £181 million in cumulative revenue. Despite its box office underperformance, The Fall Guy has received solid critical reception, holding scores of 81% from critics and 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. The film follows a stuntman who must track down a missing film star, solve a conspiracy and win back the affections of his co-star whilst continuing his professional duties, blending the style of John Wick with the humorous tone of Gosling's earlier film The Nice Guys.
