Brian May, Queen's guitarist, has launched a premium gin with London's Portobello Road Distillery called The Red Special Gin, named after his iconic Red Special guitar. The limited-edition London Dry Gin is May's latest collaboration, following recent partnerships with various musicians and celebrities. Both May and the distillery emphasise their shared commitment to craftsmanship, quality and creativity in developing this unique product.

The gin is flavoured with botanicals including juniper, liquorice root, sage and calamansi orange, the latter grown in May's own greenhouse. The distinctive bottle features a sixpence embedded in the lid, honouring the coin May has used as a plectrum since building the Red Special guitar with his father Harold between 1963 and 1964. The distillery describes the gin as "distinctive and elegant, with subtle complexity and a vibrant citrus finish," crafted to reflect May's character.
