A man in his 20s has been arrested after two girls were allegedly sexually assaulted near Gloucester train station. Police say the incident happened at about 6.45pm on 27 September, when a stranger allegedly touched the girls on the waist and bottom. The case matters because officers are still trying to locate one of the girls and establish what happened.

Police found one girl after searching the area, while the second left the scene. The man, who has no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and released on bail after an interview; his conditions include staying out of the city centre and attending Bearland Police Station on 2 October. Officers have appealed to the girl who left, or anyone with information, to contact them so they can check on her welfare and continue enquiries.
