Rare Naughty Dog update confirms 2 new The Last of Us projects, no Intergalactic updates at all this year
Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann said two new projects set in The Last of Us world are in very early development and will expand its story beyond Parts I and II. He did not say whether they are games or sequels, but said the studio would return to the franchise only with stories it considers meaningful.
Druckmann also confirmed that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, first revealed at The Game Awards in 2024, will not be shown again this year; the studio expects to share something in 2027. He described it as Naughty Dog’s most ambitious game yet and said the team is still working on it. The update comes more than six years after The Last of Us Part II.
