Curry Barker's second film, the horror-comedy "Anything But Ghosts," has been given a May 7, 2027 release date by Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster. The film marks another collaboration between Barker and his "Obsession" star Cooper Tomlinson, who co-wrote and co-stars in the project alongside Violet McGraw, Bryce Dallas Howard and Aaron Paul. This announcement comes on the back of Barker's directorial debut, "Obsession," which became one of the year's biggest box office sensations.

"Obsession" grossed an extraordinary $519 million worldwide against a budget of less than $1 million, whilst also achieving a rare 39 per cent jump in box office earnings during its second weekend. The film earned critical acclaim and Oscar buzz for its co-star Inde Navarrette, following the story of a lonely young man who uses a mystical toy to make his crush fall for him with catastrophic consequences. "Anything But Ghosts" follows a group of aspiring ghost hunters whose investigation spirals dangerously out of control, and the project is being produced by Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Jason Blum and Adam Hendricks, with Focus Features handling worldwide distribution rights.
