Ricardo Montaner has earned his first No. 1 on Billboard’s overall Latin Airplay chart, nearly 30 years after first appearing on it. “Para Que Seas Feliz” rose from third to first on the chart dated 3 October, marking a milestone in a career that has spanned five decades and crossed generations of Latin music.

The song gained 39% in US audience impressions, reaching 8.9 million during the 18–24 September tracking week, and displaced Romeo Santos and Prince Royce’s “Ay San Miguel”. It is Montaner’s 21st Latin Airplay entry and ninth top 10; his previous best was No. 2, reached twice. The wait from his 1996 debut to his first chart-topper is the longest in the chart’s history, surpassing Los Ángeles Azules’ 27-year wait. The track also leads Latin Pop Airplay for a third week and tops Regional Mexican Airplay, helped by a remix with Edén Muñoz.
