Anton Studios Joins The Creatives as Partner and Investor as Producer-Led European Company Enters Jointly Owned Holding Structure (EXCLUSIVE)
European production studio Anton Studios is taking a minority stake in The Creatives, a consortium that is formalising from an informal strategic partnership into a jointly owned holding company. This marks a significant development as The Creatives becomes the first European-rooted producer-owned group of its scale in film and television, consolidating production power whilst maintaining independent creative control among its 17 member producers.
The Creatives comprises leading production companies from France (Haut et Court, Unité), Germany (Komplizen, Razor Film), the United Kingdom (Good Chaos), the Netherlands and Belgium (Lemming Film), Norway (Maipo Film), Israel (Spiro) and the United States (Masha). Under CEO Romain Bessi, who previously led international studios including Newen Studios/Studio TF1 and Studiocanal, the group provides a "one-stop shop" for commissioners and distributors. The deal took over a year to structure, as The Creatives required a European investor who understood industry cycles, accepted a minority position, and respected the unique governance model where all producers retain shareholder control.
