True Brit Entertainment, the UK theatrical distributor founded by Zygi Kamasa (former Lionsgate UK & Europe CEO), has filed for administration, a British legal process equivalent to Chapter 11 bankruptcy, after operating for less than three years. The company represents another casualty of the UK's extremely challenging independent film distribution market, despite launching with significant backing from Three Six Zero (which represents Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean) and Matthew Vaughn's Marv Studios.

The distributor, announced in November 2023 with ambitious plans to release 4–8 titles annually and co-finance over $50 million in productions, initially showed promise with its release of Danny Dyer's "Marching Powder," which grossed over $4 million in the UK and Ireland. However, subsequent releases including Gurinder Chadha's "Christmas Karma," "Giant," Hugh Jackman's "The Death of Robin Hood" (which earned under $800,000), and "Sunny Dancer" all underperformed, leaving upcoming releases including the boxing biopic "In the Shadows" and "Victorian Psycho" in limbo as the company enters administration.
