‘NAZA’ Beats ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ to Top Italian Box Office
The Gaza documentary “NAZA” opened at No. 1 in Italy, beating the second-week re-release of “Avengers: Endgame Encore”. The result matters because the film’s strong audience response has extended a release that was originally planned for just three days.
“NAZA” took about €1.1 million on Monday and Tuesday, compared with €356,000 for “Avengers: Endgame Encore” over the same period. Directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, the documentary won a special jury prize at Venice and is due to reach cinemas in more than 50 territories before becoming freely available on The Guardian’s website in late November.
