BMW has opened US order books for its new 2027 3 Series sedan, built on an all-new Neue Klasse platform that introduces the brand's first fully electric version. The electric i3 50 xDrive carries a substantial $12,000 premium over the base petrol model, reflecting the company's ambitious push into EV technology alongside traditional combustion engine options.

The electric i3 50 xDrive is priced at $61,500 and delivers 463 horsepower with an expected range of 446 to 468 miles per charge, utilising BMW's new sixth-generation electric motor and advanced cylindrical cell battery pack. The petrol lineup includes the 2027 330 at $49,900 (featuring a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 255 hp), the 330 xDrive at $51,900, and the premium M350 xDrive at $65,900 with a 3.0-litre inline-six engine producing 437 horsepower. Additional electric variants—including the i3 M60 xDrive and a fully electric four-motor M3—are planned for later next year, with all vehicles arriving in dealerships during the first quarter of 2027.
