Two cars were set alight in a suspected targeted firebombing at a home in Taylors Hill, north-west Melbourne, shortly after 5am on Monday. A teenage boy allegedly involved was found with severe burns in a crashed car nearby and taken to hospital in a critical condition, while two other people reportedly fled. Police are investigating possible links to organised crime, amid concerns that teenagers are being drawn into dangerous offences.
The car the boy was found in, a white Hyundai Tucson, had been reported stolen from Hoppers Crossing on Sunday. Residents said it had passed the property several times before the attack. Police said no charges had been laid by Monday afternoon and urged anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage or other information to contact Crime Stoppers.
