A 67-year-old woman was arrested after driving a car in circles on the lawn of the Jennings County Courthouse in Indiana. The incident, which the sheriff’s office said followed drinking, led to charges of driving while intoxicated and highlights the danger of getting behind the wheel after alcohol.

Courthouse footage showed a silver sedan leaving tyre marks and hitting a traffic sign, while narrowly missing a tree, light post and brick bench. Lorraine Phyllis Wilkerson, of North Vernon, was arrested after 5pm on 5 October and held on a $5,055 cash bond. Jail records list two misdemeanour charges; her next court appearance was not known.
