Hartlepool is a town in County Durham in north-east England. York Road is one of its main roads, and local bus services carry passengers around the town and nearby areas.

Manslaughter is a legal term for causing someone’s death without it being treated as murder; the circumstances and level of responsibility must be established through an investigation and, if charges follow, the courts. An arrest on suspicion does not mean a person has been charged or found guilty. The investigation will seek to establish what happened and how the woman died.
