SLASH Says GUNS N’ ROSES Will Take 2027 Off From Touring To Work On New Music: ‘We Have So Much Material’
Slash says Guns N’ Roses plan to take 2027 off from touring so the band can organise and develop a large amount of existing material. He said the members find it difficult to work together on new music while on the road, making a break from touring important for focusing on the next phase.
The band is due to finish shows in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand in November and December. Slash described the recent North American and European legs as among the band’s best since the reunion tour began in 2016. The group’s latest releases, “Atlas” and “Nothin’”, came out in December 2025.
- Guns N’ Roses expect to pause touring in 2027.
- Slash says the band has a large amount of material to organise.

Guns N’ Roses are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in the 1980s. The group’s best-known line-up included singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan; Slash and McKagan rejoined the band in 2016 after years apart.
Touring takes the band from city to city, while making music together requires time to write, arrange and record songs. The group has released new material in recent years, including “Atlas” and “Nothin’”, and Slash says there is more existing material to develop. A break from touring would give the members time to work on it.
