Hamilton is a stage musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founders of the United States. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the show and played its title role in the original Broadway cast; the cast recording features songs from the production.

Billboard’s Cast Albums chart ranks recordings of stage musicals and other theatrical productions. Hamilton’s mix of hip-hop, R&B and other musical styles helped bring its story to a broad audience, while the recording’s continued chart presence reflects sustained interest in both the show and its music.
