VisionQuest: What You Need to Remember Before the New MCU Show

IGN ·

Marvel’s Vision has moved through several stages of creation and loss, and the upcoming series *VisionQuest* picks up that story. Described as the conclusion of a trilogy with *WandaVision* and *Agatha All Along*, it will place Vision in a virtual world with familiar AI personas, including Ultron, while he encounters a teenager said to be the reincarnation of his son Tommy.

Vision began as Tony Stark’s AI assistant JARVIS, who survived Ultron’s attempt to destroy him. The Avengers combined JARVIS’s matrix with a synthetic body Ultron had planned to inhabit, powered by the Mind Stone and made from Vibranium; Thor helped bring the new being to life. Vision retained JARVIS’s voice and protective instincts but regarded himself as a new person, and later joined the Avengers against Ultron in Sokovia.

  • *VisionQuest* continues Vision’s story after *WandaVision* and *Agatha All Along*.
  • Vision’s mind began as JARVIS, placed in a body Ultron wanted.
  • The series features Ultron and a teenager linked to Tommy.

Vision is an artificial being created during the Avengers’ fight against Ultron, an AI that tried to destroy humanity. He began as Tony Stark’s assistant JARVIS, whose surviving digital mind was placed in a synthetic body made with Vibranium and powered by the Mind Stone. Thor helped bring him to life, and Vision went on to fight alongside the Avengers.

Vision kept JARVIS’s voice and protective instincts, but saw himself as a new person. His story continued in WandaVision, which explored his relationship with Wanda Maximoff, and then in Agatha All Along; VisionQuest is described as completing a trilogy with those series.
