The Busan International Film Festival is a major film event in South Korea, where films from across Asia and beyond are shown and recognised. Its Vision Awards highlight films and filmmakers, while the Vision of Jiseok Award is one of the prizes in that group.
Zogsool is a Mongolian-German feature film directed by Sakhya Byamba, who previously worked as a cinematographer. It is set on the Mongolian grasslands during the early days of the Covid pandemic, a period when the virus began disrupting daily life around the world.
The film’s setting connects a global health crisis with life in a rural part of Mongolia. The festival also recognises work from different national cinemas, including Korean and Indian films.
