Yellowjackets follows a New Jersey girls’ football team whose plane crashes in a remote wilderness. The stranded players face hunger, harsh conditions and deaths as they try to survive; the series also follows some of them years later, as adults.

The story centres on the survivors’ efforts to live with what happened and keep parts of it private. The shift back to ordinary life brings its own pressures, while the return of someone from the past adds another complication.
