‘Eternally Yours’ Creators Joe Port & Joe Wiseman On Resurrecting Their Vampire Comedy Series For CBS
CBS has launched *Eternally Yours*, a vampire comedy from *Ghosts* creators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, more than a decade after they first pitched the pilot. The series uses immortality to explore the frictions and commitments of family life, asking what happens when couples must live with one another for centuries.
Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards play vampire spouses Charles and Liz, who share their home with their children, a human daughter-in-law and two half-vampire grandchildren. In the pilot, their family grows when Emma’s boyfriend Max is turned into a vampire; the first season will follow three couples at different stages of their relationships. Port and Wiseman say the show’s core idea and much of the original script remained intact, though the circumstances of filming led to changes in Max’s accident.
- CBS has premiered a vampire comedy more than a decade in the making.

Vampire stories often use immortality to imagine what life might look like without ageing or an end point. In this comedy, that idea is applied to marriage and family life: couples have to live with the choices and habits they make over centuries.
Charles and Liz are vampire spouses whose household includes their children, a human daughter-in-law and two grandchildren who are half-vampire. Their family brings together people with different lifespans and experiences, while the story also follows other couples at different stages of their relationships.
The series was created by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, whose earlier work includes Ghosts. Its central question is how lasting commitment might change when “for ever” is literal, and how ordinary family tensions might play out across generations.
