Jamz Supernova has released her 16-track compilation *Dance Around The World*, shaped by her work as a broadcaster and DJ. It brings music from across several regions together as a journey through a day, highlighting the connections between the communities represented.

The compilation is out via Mr Bongo and is arranged across two sides of vinyl. The Day side moves from gentle sunrise-themed tracks towards more forceful sounds, while the Night side offers an energetic sequence that gradually settles into a sleep-like ending; its selections span Réunion Island, Colombia’s Pacific coast, Cape Town, Rio, Guadeloupe and Trinidad.

A compilation is a collection of tracks brought together as one release, often to reflect a theme or musical style. DJs and broadcasters may use their knowledge of different scenes to introduce listeners to artists and sounds from beyond their usual listening.

Jamz Supernova is a broadcaster and DJ, and Mr Bongo is the label releasing the collection. Its music draws on places including Réunion Island, Colombia’s Pacific coast, Cape Town, Rio, Guadeloupe and Trinidad, regions with distinct musical traditions and communities.

Arranging the tracks as a passage from day to night gives the collection a loose structure, while its range of places points to links across music communities. For listeners, it offers a way into sounds from several regions within a single release.
