One Piece Could Be Coming to Fortnite Soon
Fortnite’s upcoming mini-season may be themed around One Piece, following several weeks of fan speculation and newly discovered game-file details. Epic Games has not confirmed the theme, but a pirate chest and a lore loading screen featuring a character sitting on a barrel have prompted fans to look for clues.
The latest Chapter 7 Season 4 update went live on 15 October, ahead of the season’s end on 1 November, when the mini-season is due to begin. The loading screen shows Jonesy and Hope falling through a crack in reality with the chest; Jonesy’s barrel may echo the scene in which Luffy first emerges from a barrel in chapter two of the manga. Fortnite’s previous mini-season was themed around The Simpsons, but the new clues do not confirm this year’s theme.

Fortnite is an online game in which players compete and explore, with its seasons sometimes featuring limited-time events based on films, television or other stories. One Piece is a long-running Japanese manga and anime about Monkey D. Luffy and his crew of pirates searching for a legendary treasure.
The series is created by Eiichiro Oda, and Luffy is known for his straw hat and stretching abilities. Fortnite is made by Epic Games, which has previously brought characters and settings from other popular franchises into the game.
A One Piece theme could introduce its characters or story elements to Fortnite, as earlier themed seasons have done for other franchises. Fans have pointed to pirate imagery and a barrel in Fortnite’s game materials, but such clues do not establish what the season will feature.
