Inside Yorkshire Artspace: Meet the artists opening their studios to Sheffield this November

Exposed Magazine ·

Yorkshire Artspace’s annual Open Studios weekend will return to Sheffield on 21 and 22 November, with more than 100 artists and makers opening their workspaces to visitors. The event offers a chance to see work in progress, learn how pieces are made and buy directly from local artists.

Artists Holly Clifford, Evelyn Albrow, Lianne Mellor and Roanna Wells describe the personal and practical side of opening their studios. Clifford is making a Mars north polar cap piece and bespoke topographical works; she explains that her metal maps are cut from a single sheet and fanned out to form three-dimensional landscapes. The artists say visitors can explore their tools and inspirations, while conversations with guests can encourage their creative work.
